Forging a New Frontier with Saw & Mill Company

In 1893, during the Colombian Exposition, right here in Chicago Fredrick Turner Jackson declared the American frontier was closed. America was once known as a new world, a great unknown, with much of its territory unconquered. This vast land, held secrets only to be revealed by those brave enough to enter the frontier, to pushed further. In may ways this country owes what it is today to the explorer, the settler, and the harvester. We feel the frontier of the mind is still open. Here at Saw & Mill Co., we embody this spirit and we hope you do too.

Saw & Mill Co. is committed to bringing our customers closer to the land by providing quality goods that are inspired by the outdoors. For us, it is not about selling a product, it’s about selling a journey. We want to use the best fabrics, fits, and styles, the latest technology and techniques to make this journey as meaningful as possible.

American wilderness inspired countless poets, romantics, artists and and larger-than-life figures, like Ansel Adams, John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt may have begun the National Park Service and i'ts first park, Yellow Stone. But it was individual citizens who came from the hills, to capitol hill to make a continued difference. It took 20 years for the naturalist John Muir to lobbying for Yosemite National Park, and shortly after Sequoia National Park to be created. Muir once wrote of the American landscape, "not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life." It was people like Muir and Adams, people like you, who are the ones who initiate the policies to protect and safeguard the great outdoors and insure its sustainability. Our logo represents the responsible use of our resources, and the wilderness that lies with in.

In this spirit, Saw & Mill Co. is providing our website, videos and the use of other modern social media platforms to help uncover our country’s natural treasures.
